Alexandre George

Alexandre Charles George, “Alex” or “Pops” was born on April 14, 1969, to Paula Jean Richerand and Charles Peter George, Jr., as the first child of their union. His siblings, Natalie Charles George, Paula Charles George, and Charles Peter George, III joined him to round out the family of 6. In childhood Alex attended Harahan Elementary where he met his lifelong best friend, Scott Banning. They later graduated from Riverdale High School in Jefferson, LA. He became an Entrepreneur with the Randolph-Sheppard Program for blind vendors, licensed to operate a food service facility for over 30 years. Alex met his former wife, Chasity Wells, married in 1997, they welcomed 4 children from their union, Rene Alexandre George, Daniel Alexandre George, Paul Alexandre George, and Alexis Natasha George. The George family lived in Lakeview until they evacuated to Tennessee for Katrina. Many years later he returned home to Metairie, LA where he lived surrounded by his family and friends until his death on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. He was a devoted member of the Southshore Baptist Church under the loving spiritual guidance of Pastor Jayme. Alex is survived by his children, Alexandre Galliano, Rene Alexandre George, Paul Alexandre George, and Alexis Natasha George, his grandson, Daniel Alexandre George, Jr., his mother, Paula Richerand George (Allen Samuels), his siblings, Natalie Charles George and Paula George (Rostyle Griffin, Sr.), his nephews, Rostyle “Dion” Griffin, Jr. (Elizabeth Heirsch), Nicholas Griffin, Gabriel Griffin, his nieces, Isabella Griffin, Olivia Griffin, his uncle, Frank Alexander Richerand (Clo-Lyn Barocco), aunt, Barbara George (Ralph Slifkin), aunt, Catherine George (Uncas Favret), aunt, Mary George (Jimmy Rogers), and uncle, David George. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel George, Sr., his brother, Charles Peter George, III, his father, Charles Peter George, Jr., his grandparents Mary Cobin (Hardy Ardoin), Rene Paul Richerand, Helen Prendergast George, Charles Peter George, Sr., and his aunt, Helen George (Ralph Dazet). Alex will be buried in the French Settlement Community Cemetery with his grandfather Rene Paul “R.P.” Richerand, who is the son of Elmire Claire Brignac and Auguste Richerand, the grandson of Simon Brignac and Mary Lobell.
