Andrew Nicholas Wilson

February 14, 1986 — December 21, 2023

Andrew Nicholas Wilson, known fondly as Andy, was born on February 14, 1986 in Fontana, California and passed away suddenly on December 21, 2023 in Bremerton, Washington. Andy brought joy to all those around him, living a life filled with love and adventure until his untimely departure.

Andy traveled the nation with his beloved dog, Lydia. Together, they explored new places and made countless memories. Whether it was hiking scenic trails or camping in a new place with new friends, Andy and Lydia were always on the lookout for new adventures and experiences.

Andy's family and friends remember him as a remarkable person with a vibrant personality. He had an infectious smile that could brighten even the darkest of days. Andy taught himself how to play the guitar, banjo and harmonica, entertaining those around him with his natural talent on the instruments.  He was a talented artist, capturing the scenery and images of those he saw in his travels with his drawings.  Andy was smart as a whip and a whiz on Jeopardy, regularly blurting out the correct question before the answer was finished.

Andy was preceded in death by his aunt, Rachel “Pookie” Cruz; grandfather, Ronald Wilson Jr.; grandmother, Suzanne Little, and his great grandparents Ernest and Mary Huber.  Their spirits will forever be intertwined with Andy’s.

Two other very special people in his life went before Andy: his former girlfriend, and love of his life, Sierra Shapery, and his cousin and traveling companion, Christopher James “Primo” Little.  The memories and love they shared with each other were precious to Andy.  Their untimely passings were incredibly painful for Andy.  They are now reunited.

Andy is survived by a large family.  His parents, Audrey and Tom Little provided unwavering support throughout his journey. Ron and Elsa Wilson, also grieving their son's loss, were pillars of strength for Andy during both good times and bad.  Andy is also survived by his brother, Chris Wilson and Chris’ wife Eena.  Chris and Andy’s bond was unbreakable, even through the most challenging circumstances.  Andy’s stepsisters, Megan Little and Brianna Cruz loved him dearly and will miss his greeting, “Hey, sister!”

Andy’s grandparents, Mary Anne Wilson, Andy's loving paternal grandmother, maternal grandparents Bob and Christine Gilbert and his grandfather Bill Little, and Bill’s wife Billie Jo, loved Andy beyond measure, sharing laughter and wisdom with him throughout his life.

Other family members left behind are his Uncle Daniel Gilbert, his Auntie Margaret, Aunt Tracy and Uncle Dave Cockrell, Uncle Mark and Aunt Deb Wilson, Uncles Mark and Chris Little and Aunt Denean Little Mason, all of whom gave him love, support, encouragement and guidance.  His cousins Katie Cockrell, Jack Cockrell, Daniel Little, and Zack Wilson shared laughter with Andy, making lasting memories with him as they grew up together.

Andy made countless friends he thought of as family during his life.  His many friends are quick to point out he would give someone the shirt off his back, even if it meant he no longer had one.  That giving spirit sums up the life Andy wanted to be remembered for, a kind soul who always looked out for others.

Although Andrew Nicholas Wilson's time with us was cut tragically short, his impact will be felt for generations to come. His zest for life, love for music, and adventurous spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him.  As we grieve his loss, let us also celebrate the life that brought us so much happiness.

Rest in peace, dear Andy.
