Anna Humphries Smith, known by many as Ann, peacefully departed this life on May 23, 2023. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time she passed to be with her Lord. Ann lived a joyful life of 86 years with family and friends and had an insatiable passion for reading. Anyone who visited her would find a book next to her chair. She would often read until dawn when she was absorbed in a good novel. Ann was born in Fort Necessity, Louisiana on August 29, 1936. The only child of a farmer, she was never far from her many cousins who treated her like a sister. In 1955, she went to Arkansas for a few years and returned to Louisiana in the mid-60s. She remained in the Baton Rouge Metropolitan area for the remainder of her life. She is survived by her partner of 47 years, Philemon Smith, who cherishes the memories of their loving and joyful years together. She leaves behind three sons, Rodney Dumas, Michael Dumas, and Jeffrey Scott and a daughter Ann Lundgren, along with two daughters-in-law, Jacqui Dumas and Krista Dumas, and a son-in-law, Keary Lundgren. Her pleasures in later years were her eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She had many other relatives, who were a special part of her life. Becky Flanagan was a loving granddaughter who constantly cared for her grandparents in their later years and made sure they were always loved.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith – 2 Timothy 4:7

Visitation and a service will be held at Wholly Ground Church, 27988 Walker South Road, Walker, LA 70785, on Saturday, May 27 from 9:45am until 12:00pm.
