Arthur Paul Hymel died peacefully surrounded by family July 1, 2023. He was born September 14, 1939, at home in New Orleans, LA.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Winn, of 56 years, children Cheryl Villnurve (Randy), Leslie Kuyrkendall (Bob), Edward Wedge (Cindy), Rene Hymel (Frances) and Michelle Broadrick (Roy), 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was a Navy veteran and past Master of Masonic Lodge #372. He was a Senior Pipe Designer that worked in plants throughout the US. His greatest fame was working on the Alaskan Pipeline. He loved a good game of pool with a vodka in his hand and smoking a Lucky Strike.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Edith, siblings Albert, Milton, and Earl Hymel, Theresa Tweed, Leonnie Farringer, sons-in-law Randy and Bob, and grandson Jeffery Villnurve.
Those wishing to honor Art may donate to Broadmoor Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge. Art’s request is to have no memorial service but instead have a glass of vodka and lime in his memory (you understand what I’m saying).
