Mrs. Bettie Conley, 84, of Central, LA, formerly of Zachary, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 7, 2018. Bettie passed away peacefully at her home with her family, under the care of Clarity Hospice. She was a longtime and active member of Zoar Baptist Church and her Christian walk was visible every day. Born May 8, 1934, to Wilmer and Grace Gibson, she spent her childhood in Baton Rouge, LA., graduating from Istrouma High School in 1951. She devoted her life to being a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, “G-G”, mother-in-law and friend. She loved traveling, playing card games, thrift store shopping, church activities and Popeyes every Sunday. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Leonard Neal Conley, Jr., her parents, her two sisters and her son in law, Tommy Roshto. She is survived by three (3) children, Becky Roshto of Vestavia Hills, AL; Len Conley and his wife Kathy of Baton Rouge; Brent Conley and his wife JoLynn of Vestavia Hills, AL; seven (7) grandchildren, Thomas Roshto; Rebecca McCormick and her husband David; Brad Conley and his wife Misty; Greg Conley and his wife Renee; Ben Conley; Jennifer Barninger and her husband Ryan; Jessica Conley; eight (8) great grandchildren, Conley and Stella McCormick; Leyton, Larkin and Camilla Conley; Jillian, Matthew and Emma Conley and a sister, Sylvia Gibson McBride of Richmond, Va. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Zoar Baptist Church, 11848 Hooper Road, Baton Rouge, LA. Funeral services will start at 11:00 am and interment will immediately follow at Zoar Baptist Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Dr. Kevin Hand, Rev. Dennis McAnally, Rev. Glen Miers and Dr. Lee Rider. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Thomas Roshto, Brad Conley, Greg Conley, Ben Conley, David McCormick and Ryan Barninger. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmie Spangler, Nolan Langston, and Kenneth Lee.
