Betty Jane Mayer

 Betty J Sweet Mayer age 85 of Saint Amant, La, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. She was born November 13, 1938 in Potter County, Pa, the daughter of Willard and Velma Sweet of Potter County, Pa.

She was married to the late Leroy L Mayer Sr., for 60 years and the loving mother to Leroy L Mayer Jr. (Michele), Sheila K Mayer Larabee (Terry), Paula Mayer-Campiere (A.J) and the late Earl P Mayer (Karen).  She was a stay at home housewife and a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, Aunt and friend.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Paul Sweet (Kay), Robert Sweet, Fredrick Sweet (Kathy), Gary Sweet and sister, Onolee Sweet.

She had 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She had a group of very special friends Rachel Scagnamillo, the late Delores Brock, Mary Ann Marse and Silva Verdun that she loved dearly.

She used to train horses and barrel ride in rodeo’s. She loved to travel. She loved being with her family and grandkids. She loved to go out and eat and also loved her sweets.

Family and Friends are invited to call at River of Life Worship Center 18295 La Highway 16, Port Vincent, La., at 9:00 am for visitation and 10:00a.m. for service.  Burial will be at Maurepas Cemetery, 25095-25107 Louisiana Hwy 22, Maurepas, La. Pastor Bobby Ready, will officiate.
