Betty Josephine Stuckey, 80, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Sage Healthcare in Baton Rouge. She was born on May 12, 1944, in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, to the late Arnold J. Stuckey and Josephine Castella Stuckey. Betty graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, LA, in 1962. She went on to attend LSU, where she became a devoted fan of the LSU Tigers. In 1966, Betty began her career with Delta Airlines as a Reservation Agent, a job she loved and excelled in for over three decades. She retired in 2000 as Marketing Manager. Betty’s work at Delta took her to various cities across the world, including Washington DC, San Francisco, London, St. Louis, Miami, and Baton Rouge. She thoroughly enjoyed the adventure of living in different places and connecting with people from all walks of life. Betty was passionate about travel, reading, driving her car, and spending time with family and friends. She found joy in new experiences, loved to explore new places, and cherished the company of those she held dear.
She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Green (Garvis Green); nieces, Winter Green-Ike (Victor Ike), Ginna Green; grandniece, Nyla Ike; grandnephew, Eli Ike; and stepfather, Charles Crawford. Betty also leaves behind a special circle of step siblings, cousins, and friends who will forever treasure her memory. Betty will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her adventurous spirit and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.
A private gathering with family will be held to celebrate Betty’s life on January 18, 2024. Betty will be laid to rest at Antioch Cemetery in Queen City, TX, alongside her parents
In lieu of flowers, the family request the memorial gifts to be given to honor Betty's life and memory through Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or Friends of the Animals Adoption House.
