Bruce Eugene Bourgeois III

Bruce Eugene Bourgeois III, beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2023, at his residence in Walker, Louisiana. He was born on February 12, 1966, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Bruce was a kind and hardworking individual who dedicated his life to his family and the pursuit of his career.

Bruce's love for mechanics was evident throughout his life. He pursued this passion and worked as a mechanic for the majority of his career. His exceptional skills and dedication to his craft earned him the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of numerous satisfied customers.

Education played a vital role in Bruce's life. He laid the foundation for his successful future by graduating from Brusly High School. It was during these formative years that he began developing the skills and work ethic that would define him throughout his life.

Family meant everything to Bruce. He was a devoted father to Kristin Edwards, Katie Bourgeois, and Kody Bourgeois. Bruce's love expanded further as he embraced the role of a cherished grandfather to Gabrielle Edwards, Katelyn Destin, Shane Hebert, Anna Magee, Katherine Bourgeois, and Kody Bourgeois II. His presence brought immense joy into their lives and created lasting memories that will be treasured forever.

Bruce leaves behind a loving mother, Cynthia Booth; a brother Stuart Bourgeois; a sister J'onnell Haney (KJ); nieces Joslyn Bourgeois and Makenna Haney; nephews Cade Bourgeois, Cameron Haney, and Caleb Haney; as well as great-niece Luna Higginbottam. Their bond was unbreakable, filled with love and support.

Bruce was predeceased by his father Bruce Bourgeois II but found solace in the presence of his uncle Keith Higdon throughout the years. Their shared experiences and unyielding connection were a source of comfort and strength.

In addition to his immediate family, Bruce was fortunate to be surrounded by a large and loving extended family. Aunt Margaret Anne Higdon and Uncle Sam Higdon, were not only family members but also trusted friends who provided unwavering support during both happy and challenging times. Bruce's life was enriched by the presence of many more cherished cousins.
