Carey “John” Capello

Carey “John” Capello, 62, of Baton Rouge, LA, a retired foreman for Dub Johnson Commercial Contractors, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at The Pines Retirement Center.  He was born on September 30, 1960, in Church Point, LA, to parents Dale and Catherine Capello. He lived in Baker and Baton Rouge, LA area.  John was a graduate of Redemptorist High School. He loved fishing, boating, skiing and sports.

John is survived by his son Christopher (Rosanne), daughter Alicia, his Mother Catherine Capello, grandchild Devin Capello, Jacob (Bailey), Daniel, Luke, Molly, and Matthew Decoteau.  A brother Kirk Capello, three sisters Debbie Holloway, Liz (Ronnie) Edgens, Carla (Dwayne) Breaux, numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father Dale B. Capello, brother-in-law Larry Holloway, and grandparents.

A religious service will be held on January 21, 2023 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, at the Corner of Plank Road and Thomas Road. Visitation from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Mass will begin promptly at 10:00 am with the celebrant Ft. Frank Uter.

The family wants to thank the staff at the Pines Retirement Center and Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge, who took care of him during his stay.
