Carmen L. Palmer passed away on January 9, 2018, after a three month battle with illnesses. She achieved her life long reward of joining her Savior in Heaven. Her life was portrayed by her unwavering trust in Him. She was born on November 18, 1942, and was a lifetime resident of Baton Rouge where she graduated from Baton Rouge High School. She had worked in administration of Cortana Mall and was later a director with the Louisiana Senior Olympics. But her real life’s work was serving and comforting others. Carmen was a long time resident of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and a committed member of the Family of Praise Charismatic Prayer Group. She felt “called” to be an intercessor and was a powerful prayer warrior. She prayed diligently for her family and friends, and members of the community. She will be greatly missed as in intercessor, promoter, and leader of family gatherings, but she will be mostly missed by those who called on her anytime night or day for encouragement, counseling, and prayer. Carmen was pre-deceased by her parents, Bob R. Palmer and Aida Palmer; her beloved sister, Sugar Carter of Shreveport; and her adored eldest niece, Phyllis Carter. She is survived by her brother, Robert Palmer of Live Oak, Florida; niece, Lisa Powell and husband Stan of Shreveport; nephews, Chris and Todd Carter, both of Shreveport; devoted brother-in-law, Kenny Carter; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 11:00am until 12:00 noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 noon. Arrangements by Church Funeral Services & Crematory, St. Amant 225-644-9683 www.churchfuneralservices.com
