Carol Jean Johnston Gros
Carol, age 71 passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 after a short illness.
Carol was born in McAllen, Texas, April 7, 1950 to Thomas Jacob Johnston and Merle Jane [Warner] Johnston.
Carol is survived by her mother, Merle Johnston; two daughters, Merle Annette Boykin and Jewell Michelle Fleming. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jones [Delaine], Thomas Clark and Jacob Moll; great-grandchildren, Danton and Ainslee Jones; sisters, Janie Dunn [Hughey], Tommie Ann Butler, and Patricia Mauldin [Al], and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carol held within her heart a true love for God and family. She loved to read, fish and will be remembered for her taco and enchilada meals.
She is preceded in death by infant son, Thomas Ray Fleming; her father, Thomas Jacob Johnston; brother-in-law, Thomas “Ernie” Butler, Jr.
Carol was an active member of the Zachary Church of Christ.
Family and friends of Carol are invited to attend the Visitation and Memorial service to be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the Zachary Church of Christ, 3836 Hemlock Street, Zachary, Louisiana beginning at 10am until religious services at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the Zachary Church of Christ.
