Charlie Sue McAlum, 80, of Prairieville passed away at The Parc Senior Living on October 12, 2024. Sue was blessed with love throughout her life. She traveled the world with her three daughters and her first husband, Michael Dennis McAlum, who was taken from her by cancer when he was only 54. God blessed her again and Sue was married to her beloved husband, Kenneth “Apple” Abadie for 25 years until he too was taken just a month before she died. They adored their faithful furry companion, Lucy.Charlie Sue is survived by her three daughters, Kellie Babineaux and husband Brian; Suzanne McAlum; and Dee Dee Landry and her partner Roy; her grandchildren Jessica Ricci and husband Devin Ricci; Brittany and Ben Babineaux; and Christian and Colin Landry; and her great grandchild Madison Ricci. Sue cherished her relationship with God and lived her life as His faithful servant. She faced the last years of her life with a strength that few possess. She was a beautiful mother both inside and out and a role model for her daughters. Her grandchildren and little Maddie adored their MawMaw and she cherished spending time with her family. Sue was an avid reader who loved crosswords and great movies. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth “Apple” Abadie” and Michael Dennis McAlum, her parents Calvin “Jack” Monroe Garman and Lanell Bracey Gartman. Also by her brother Calvin “Buck” Gartman, her sister Betty Morgan and her grandson Matthew Babineaux, parents-in-law Roy and Nell McAlum, sister-in-law Better Carter father-in-law Ozane Abadie, mother-in law Rose Gravois Abadie, sister-in-law Marguerite Abadie and Dudley Labat, sister in-law Madeline Abadie and Norman Lassere, brother-in-law Richard Mire, brother-in-law Harold and Lois Roussel Abadie, brother-in-law Huey Kliebert, brother-in-law Robert Schexnayder, Sr., brother-in-law Theodore Abadie, Sr., brother-in-law Ozane Abadie, Jr., and brother-in-law Nolan and Brenda Garrison Abadie. Sue and Apple were laid to rest at Cornerview Cemetery in Gonzales, Louisiana on October 26, 2024.
