Christina “Tina” Pettit Teasley, 65 years of age, of Baton Rouge Louisiana died Sunday December 4, 2022, with her family by her side. Tina was born October 20, 1957, in Fairbanks Alaska on Eielson Air Force Base to Gerald Hugh and JoAnn W. Pettit. She was a resident of Baton Rouge with a career in the insurance industry. She was an active member of Insurance Women of America, Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association Unit #371, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post #3784.
Tina enjoyed being with her family and friends throughout all of the festivity’s life brings. This included going to football games, cheerleading competitions for her nieces, birthday parties, and holidays. She was never afraid to try something new. Whether it was trying a new dish or an activity, you better believe she would give it her best shot without blinking an eye. She had a talent for sharing stories, even if they didn’t make sense to everyone, they made sense to her and that’s what mattered. Throughout her life, Tina was a devout Christian. When both good and bad challenges were thrown her way, she found strength through her faith. Tina would spend hours on end reading her bible, often sharing meaningful scriptures with the ones she loved. She was a member of the Family Worship Center at Jimmy Swaggart Ministries for over 30 years.
Tina loved spending time with family and friends, meeting new people, and always sharing stories from what felt like a million years ago. Tina never forgot the small details of people or memories; this is something that made her so unique in her special way. She adored spending time with her Yorkshire Terrier “Tinker Bell” and took her everywhere she possibly could, whether it was a friend’s house, grocery store, or the mall.
Tina is survived by her sister Julie P. Streat (Chuck), brothers Jeff Pettit (Susan), Chris Pettit (Carolynn), half-brothers David Pettit (Courtney), Stephen Pettit, half-sister Jennifer Pettit, stepmother Phyllis L. Pettit, and stepbrother James Ellis (Sabrina). Nieces JoAnn Babin, Olivia, and Charlotte Streat, Anna and Claire Pettit, Leah Pettit, Michelle, and Taylor Ellis and nephews Chad Streat, Joey Pettit, Landon Pettit, Mason Pettit, Mathew and Malachi Wesley, Kyle Ellis. Great nephews Joseph, Liam, and Abel Pettit, and great nieces Jayden and Julianna Pettit. She is preceded in death by her parents Gerald Hugh and JoAnn W. Pettit, her husband Tony Teasley, and her beloved Yorkshire Terrier “Tinker Bell”.
In remembrance of Tina, we will hold a memorial service for her on Saturday December 17, 2022, at Family Worship Center Campus, Crossfire Auditorium at 8919 World Ministry Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70810. Fellowship will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, and services will begin at 10:30 am.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Derek Spell and his staff at Louisiana Hematology and Oncology for the understanding, compassion, and commitment that they showed Tina throughout a difficult journey.
