Corey Edmond “My Curry” Grimes
Corey Grimes, 46, was born July 31, 1974 at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA. He began his early education at Paul B. Haban Elementary and then All Saints School, where he served as an altar boy for several years. He then went on to Archbishop Shaw High School and O Perry Walker High School, and then on to graduate from Delgado Community College. He departed this life on October 18, 2020.
He is survived by: his wife LaKeisha Saulsberry Grimes; his four children – Kristylynn Saulsberry (Joshua Hawkins), Corey Saulsberry, Rashaad Saulsberry, and Journa Saulsberry; his two grand-children – Kilani Hawkins and Juliana Hawkins; his mother Delories Moss; his siblings – La’Vonsell Grimes (Sammuel Williams), Garry Grimes, Shannon Grimes, Gen’tel Allen (Maurice Allen), and Eric Grimes (Erin Grimes); his two uncles – Joseph Jones, Jr. and James Anthony Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 30, 2020 at First New Testament Church, 3235 Aubin Ln, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, with a brief visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. and burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
