A ceremony celebrating the life of Darren Jay “D. J.” Blount Jr., will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday at First United Pentecostal Church Denham Springs, visitation will be Monday 5 pm until 9 pm and will resume on Tuesday at 9 am until time of the service. Interment will follow at Sykes Cemetery.
D J was born on June 28, 1989 in Baton Rouge and passed from this life on Sunday March 7, 2021 at Madison Parish Hospital Tallulah.
He excelled in sports and music in high school, he enjoyed weightlifting, fishing, and an avid fan of sports. His passion was time spent with his family and friends. He worked as an ironworker and was a resident of Holden.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Bernardine Redford, Jack Derrell Stokes, Elton “Joe” Stewart, and Raymond G. Blount Sr.
Survivors include his father Darren Blount Sr and stepmother Nikki Blount, his mother Angela Stokes and stepfather Alex Allen Bertelsen, his children Aleeiah Lisa Marie, Landon Jayden, Madison Noel, grandmother Norma Sykes Stewart, siblings Jessica, Jacob, Levi, Jackson, Nathaniel, and Traci, very special relatives Elaine McCullen, Brook Lynn Lee Hodges, Tharren Jay Blount, Beth Stokes, William Bowman and William Stokes, also survived by a host of other relative and friends.
