David Goings

David T. Goings passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at his home in Denham Springs at the age of 85. He was retired from DOTD and was a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Church in Satsuma on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 11:00 AM until religious services at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 ½ years, Melba B. Goings; daughter, Lisa Goings Stablier; son and daughter-in-law, Gary T. and Amanda Albin Goings; sister, Betty Jean Goings; brother and sister-in-law, Elton and Vertis Benton Goings; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Etta B. Wheat, Myrtis B. Oliver, Zane Blount, Malcolm Blount and Ronnie Blount.

Preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Alma Riley Goings; sisters, Bessie Goings, Jessie Goings and Ethalee Goings; brothers, A.T. Goings, Henry Goings, Milton Goings and Adrain Goings. He was a member of Oakview Baptist Church in Livingston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cornerstone Church, 28280 South Satsuma Road, Livingston, LA 70754. Church Funeral Services 225-644-9683 in Walker is in charge of arrangements.
