Deborah Gail Lewis (King), affectionately known as Debbie, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, in Prairieville, Louisiana, at the age of 69. She was born on August 21, 1955, in Richmond, Virginia. Debbie spent her career as a dedicated pipe fitter and truck driver, known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to her work.
A woman of deep faith, Debbie cherished her relationship with the Lord. She attended Hope Church with her mother whenever possible and found great joy in worshipping and practicing her faith. Her hobbies included horseback riding, fishing, visiting the elderly at nursing homes, and reading, activities that brought joy not only to her but to those around her.
Debbie is survived by her loving family: Daughter, Jeannie Van Alstyne, and her husband, Kenny Van Alstyne; grandson, Little Kenny Van Alstyne, and his wife, Emerald. Daughter, Tonya Ziegenbein, and her Grandchildren, Devin and Marc Ziegenbein. Son, Donald Jr. Hughes, and granddaughter Allie, along with great-grandson Carson. Sister, Wanda Dye, and her Husband Dwayne Dye. Brother, Frank King, and his wife, Kathy King. She also leaves behind a loving extended family of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank King, J.R. and Deloris “Dee” King; her brothers, Brad King, Mark King and Michael King; and her sister, Dorothy Jean King.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Galvez Pentecostal Church, located at 15267 Joe Sevario Rd., Gonzales, Louisiana. Pastor Hairford will officiate the service. The family is being assisted by Church Funeral Home during this time.
