Della D. Babin

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Della D. Babin will be 6 pm Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church; visitation will begin at 4 pm. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Mausoleum. Mrs. Babin was born on November 10, 1934 in Whitehall, La and departed from this life on Monday March 26, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a resident of St Amant, a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening and sewing. She is preceded in death by her husband Steve Babin; parents Blanchard and Edna Brignac Dupuy; granddaughter Brittney Bourgeois, siblings Thomas and Isabel Dupuy. Survivors include her children Donna Bourgeois (Donnie), Bonnie Melancon (Greg), Michael Babin (Debbie), Mark Babin (Amy) and Debbie LeBlanc (Jeff); her twin sister Dora Trabeau; her sister in law Doris Babin; also survived by 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, host of step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and her canine companions Misty and Dolly. Her grandsons will serve as her pallbearers. The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center for their care; and a special thanks to Rene’ Crousillac and Anne Ogea with Mistletoe Market and Jimmy Babin with Creative Cajun Cooking.
