Donald “Don” Lee Bellue, 83, resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on April 8, 2023, at St. Joseph’s The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, LA. He was born in Liberty, MS on November 12, 1939. He graduated from Bogalusa High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1962. He later received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Louisiana State University. He worked for South Central Bell and AT&T from 1962 until his retirement in 1999. He was a dedicated coach of his daughters’ Little League basketball and softball teams for many years, winning several State Championships with the Challengers fastpitch softball team. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and square dancing with his wife and was also an avid LSU sports fan. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Shirley Hamby Bellue of Baton Rouge, LA; son, Mark (Carol) Bellue of Baton Rouge, LA and daughters, Jane Bellue Waukau (Merv) of Missouri City, TX, Stacey Bellue Eatinger (JJ) of Baton Rouge, LA and Lesley Bellue Driskell (Craig) of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Tyler and Sarah Bellue; Kevin (Courtney) Waukau, Kara (Evelio) Sauceda and Jenna Waukau, Gabrielle (Preston) Hatfield, Dylan and Brennan Arceneaux, Chloe Eatinger, Macy Eatinger Eccles (TJ) and Katie and Daniel Driskell; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Parker Waukau and Lucas Sauceda; his sister, Carline Jenkins of Bogalusa, LA; and a sister-in-law, Ann Bellue of West Monroe, LA. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Maggie Frazier Bellue; a brother, Bennie; a brother-in-law, Rudolph Jenkins; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Jimmy) Roussell; a sister and brother-in-law, Naomi (Lavaughn) Rawls; and a sister Patsy Bellue. At his request, the family will not hold a public service.
