Dora Mae Dupuy Trabeau

Dora Mae Dupuy Trabeau passed away on May 28, 2021 at the age of 86. Born on November 10, 1934 to Edna and Blanchard Dupuy in Whitehall, Louisiana, Dora had 3 siblings – Tom (Joetta) Dupuy, Isabell (Butz) Dupuy, and twin sister Della (Steve) Babin. A graduate of Maurepas High School, she married Paul Trabeau on April 17, 1954 and they began their lives together in Sorrento, LA. Together they raised 3 children and were married 61 years. Dora worked at the Gonzales Pants Factory and then in banking, before traveling the country with Paul in an 18-wheeler until retiring in 1995. They both enjoyed fishing, camping, and dancing with family and friends. Dora enjoyed sewing and quilting, and she was an incredible cook. A member of St. Anne Catholic Church, she was active in several ministries, including serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at Mass and for hospital/ homebound parishioners. Dora was also a member of a Rosary Group. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, she will be dearly missed. Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband Paul Ferrell Trabeau, she is survived by her children, Pam (Tim) Boudreaux, Chayland (Susie) Trabeau, and Paula (Bill) Patty; grandchildren, Spencer (Kandice) Boudreaux, Brandt Boudreaux, Maddie (Sean) O’Rourke, Quinn (Sarah) Trabeau, Erin (Stephen) Bowling, Brent (Ashley) Duplessis, Trey (Lacy) Hall, Leslie (Matthew) Leeth, Billy (Joelle) Patty, Brandon (Alycia) Patty, Devyn Michelli, and Lauren (Jarrod) LeBlanc; great grandchildren, Logan and Reaghan Boudreaux, Ivy O’Rourke, Makayla and Gabriel Hall, Gage Duplessis, Madelyn Tanner, Zaaden Fitzgerald, Mayleigh and Brennan Boudreaux, Rogan Leeth, Carter Mae and Cole LeBlanc, Will and Rynn Patty. Pallbearers will be Dora’s grandsons, Brandt Boudreaux, Quinn Trabeau, Brent Duplessis, Billy Patty, Brandon Patty and her great grandson, Logan Boudreaux. There will be no viewing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church in Sorrento on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dora’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Alzheimer’s Disease Research. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Ascension Oaks Nursing Home and Pinnacle Hospice for their care and support. Arrangements entrusted with Church Funeral Services of St. Amant.
