Doris Ann Borrero

Doris Ann Borrero, of Gonzales, Louisiana, died on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at her home at the age of 89. Born on November 17, 1935, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana she was a daughter of the late James and Doris Farlow. She graduated from Istrouma High School in 1955, attended Louisiana State University, and graduated from Southeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1977. She was married on August 6, 1971, to Homero Borrero of Cali, Colombia—her life partner of 53 years. Ann enjoyed swimming, sewing, traveling, and quality time with her beloved dogs. She was a kindergarten and elementary school teacher for 18 years and taught swimming lessons in the summer. 

She is survived by her devoted husband, her sister, Carole Corkern of Nashville, Tennessee, her daughter, Beverly Frederic and her husband, Conrad, of Gonzales, her son Richard Henley and his wife Lisa, of Berryville, Arkansas, and her son John Borrero, and his wife Carrie, of Nottingham, Maryland. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Nicholas Frederic, Amanda Davis, Erica Kennett, Russel Henley, Zachary Denham, Camryn Denham-Fairley, and Isabella Borrero, and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Alice Markay Denham, and survived by Alice Markay’s husband, Thad Denham.
