A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Dorothy “Dot” Kanada will be held at 11 am on Wednesday August 5, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church French Settlement; wake begins at 10:30 am. Graveside service will be 2 pm at Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery Baton Rouge.
Mrs. Dot was born on August 30, 1939 in Ville Platte, LA to the union of Elton and Thelma Guillory Deshotel and passed from this life on August 1, 2020 at the age of 80 years. She was a resident of Livingston Parish and a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; her passion was her church and family. She enjoyed working in her yard, cutting grass, and attending her plants, and flowers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sammy Kanada, and a great grandchild Jessie Stevens.
Survivors include her children Keith Kanada (Becki), Kirk Kanada, and Chiko Dietrich (Tony), her siblings Dora Dunaway and Nolan Deshotel; also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
