Douglas Chad Waters, 54, of Baton Rouge, died Oct. 4, 2022, after a long illness. He was the most dedicated, funny and loving husband, father, son, brother and Pawpaw. He served our country in the Coast Guard during the first Gulf War. He was a supporter and contributor to the Wounded Warriors Project, which was very dear to his heart. He is survived by his wife, Lari Strahan Waters; mother, Julia Fontenot Waters; daughter, Mary-Douglas Waters; son, Merrit E. Waters; stepsons, Erik Strahan and wife Carley Strahan and Robert Cosby; grandchildren, Nicholas Cosby, Addison Strahan and Isla Strahan; brother David K. Waters and wife Sandy Waters; nephews Bradley Waters and Cameron Waters; and sister, Ashley Waters and niece, Bre Leigh Barfield and nephew, Kenny Waters. Douglas was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Waters, brother Eric Waters and grandson Ethan Strahan. A private service will be held at a later date.
