Ellen Dianne "Peaches" Morales

Ellen "Peaches" Dianne Morales, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 26, 2024, at University Medical Center in New Orleans. She was born on February 5, 1946 in Port Allen, Louisiana.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Morales; her mother, Elodie Dunn; her children, Melissa Buquet (Cullen), Terry L Morales (Felice), Jennifer McAlister (Kenny), and Kirsten Taylor (Brandon); her siblings, Deanna Altazan and Louis Altazan (Elaine); Grandchildren, Victoria Franks (Riley), Kyle McAlister, Olivia Buquet, Alyssa Behrnes (Colby), Joel McAlister, and Jonathan Buquet; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis R Altazan Sr., and her nephew, Trey Burge.

A graduate from Port Allen High School, Peaches met the love of her life in 1960 and they were married on July 6, 1963. Peaches dedicated her life to her family, serving as a devoted wife and a nurturing mother. Her home was a hub of warmth and generosity, always open to friends and family. Known for her sharp wit and zest for life, she loved celebrating any special day or event and was always behind a camera capturing her favorite moments. She was deeply committed to her faith, actively participating in Trinity Lutheran Church.
Her hobbies included hosting family gatherings, cooking delicious meals, and traveling the country with her husband. Above all, her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved fiercely.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday, October 31, from 10 am to 12 pm, followed by services at 12 pm. Burial will take place immediately after at Greenoaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Kyle McAlister, Joel McAlister, Jonathan Buquet, Louis Latil, Brandon Taylor, and Riley Franks. Honorary pallbearers are Logan and Bodie Hollis and Colby Behrnes.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at University Medical Center for the exceptional care and dedication shown during her final days. They would especially like to acknowledge her nurse, Jasmine, for her compassionate support.
