Ernie Martin

Ed Martin, a resident of Prairieville, was born on August 6, 1947 in Waynesboro, MS and departed from this life on Monday November 13, 2017 at his home at the age of 70 years. He was a truck driver, he enjoyed travel and especially time spent with his family. He will always be remembered for his big heart of kindness always helping anyone that he could. He also enjoyed watching horse racing and NASCAR. He is preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters. Survivors include his children, Jennifer Martin (Russell), Michael Martin Duncan (Karen), Nicole Medcalf Mandoza (Jeremy), and Natalie Medcalf; sister, Margie Dixon (Udell); special nephew, Frankie Avants; grandchildren, Christiana, Maranda, Austin, Hunter, Tabitha, Braeden, Hayley, Alayna, Draven, Dakota, Whitney, Kaylee, Gabriel, Victoria and Szarah; great grandchildren, Kenzlee, Jayson and Ariel; also survived by other relatives and friends. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Memorials in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The American Heart Association.
