Estelle D. Smiley
Graveside service for Estelle D. Smiley will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday at LDS Cemetery, 16135 Milldale Road, Zachary.
Estelle was born on October 23, 1923, in Pride, LA and passed from this life on Tuesday July 6, 2021, at Lane Regional Medical Center at the age of 97 years.
She was a 1944 graduate of Pride High School, she loved gardening and especially her rose bushes; in her younger years she loved to swim in Dougherty Swimming Hole, and time spent with her family. She adored her parents and was an amazing loving mother to her boys. She was a faithful member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Ethel Mae Hubbs Dougherty, sisters Molly Dougherty, Ruby Pullam, and Elizabeth Mary Dougherty.
Survivors include her husband Juste B. Smiley Jr., sons Juste “Jimmie” Smiley, Dennis Smiley, and Larry Smiley; nieces Annie Ruth LaFleur and Edith Mae McCoy; nephew Stanley Pullam; also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews.
