Fay Love Seago Barnett, born June 3, 1938, in New Orleans, LA, passed away June 16, 2023, at her Baton Rouge home with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-six years, Wayne Barnett, and by her parents, Harriet Seago Bless, and Leslie M. Seago. She and Wayne were longtime, active members of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge. She will be inurned at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, next to her beloved Wayne. Fay was a Registered Dietician at Baton Rouge General hospital for many years before moving to Foley Alabama with her husband, where she continued to work as the Nutritional Services Director at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center. Prior to her retirement, she and Wayne moved back to Baton Rouge where she continued her career as a Diabetes Educator at Baton Rouge General Hospital. Fay was funny, playful, enjoyed good food and wine, and loved vacationing with her family. She was warmly known as “Mimi” and loved spending time with her five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She loved the church and developed long lasting friendships with several members of the congregation at St. Margaret’s. Fay is survived by her three children, Robin Ross Landry and husband Dale R. Landry, Lauren Ross Autin and husband Russell John Autin Jr., and Scott Edward Ross. Grandchildren, Russell Aaron Autin, Melissa Fay Landry, Julia Margaret Landry, Cade Garrett Ross and wife, Madison Feucht Ross, Allie Rae Ross and great grandchildren, Owen Wayne Rogers, Luca Joseph White, and Eleanor Kate White. A celebration of her life and inurnment service will be held at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 12663 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70810, on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM. The family extends special thanks to her wonderful caregivers; Jannabeth Pierce, Angie Dameron and Kiane Dixon, for their loving care during her illness! A special thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Jay, Bridgette, Mona, and Contina. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area.
