Frankie Mae Elkins

January 24, 1947 — February 27, 2025

Sadly, our beloved and feisty, Frankie Mae Elkins, 78, of St. Amant, LA, passed away on February 27, 2025 at OLOL Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Frankie was born on January 24, 1947 to Maggie and Toxie Joe Delancey in Columbia, MS. During her younger years, she worked as a Cosmetologist. She loved making people look beautiful! Frankie was predeceased in death by her parents, Maggie and Toxie Joe Delancey, five of her siblings, Patsy Self, Patricia Nichols, Clifton Delancey, Henry Delancey and Juanita Lambert.

She is survived by her four remaining siblings, Edith Sandifer, Carolyn Powell, Bonnie Bryant and Bobby Delancey and her children, Angela & Kevin Richard, Pamela Bercegeay, Melissa & John Hebert, Ruby & Dennis Davis, Schwan Self, Greg & Dawn Elkins and Richard & Theresa Elkins. From these children she was blessed with many grandchildren: Leigh Zimmerman, Heather Kling, Toxie Bercegeay, Michael Bercegeay, Kayla Bercegeay, Morgan Hebert-Wilson, Trenton Hebert, Tyler Hebert, Mason Davis, Reed Davis, Addison Davis, Aiden Fountain, Allie Fountain, Ronald Elkins, Donald Elkins, Shawn Elkins and Hunter Elkins. These grandkids blessed her even more with a total of 24 great grandkids. She was immensely loved by us all.

Frankie was a fiesty little lady who loved to the be center of attention. She loved to spend time with her family and run the roads with her best friend Kathleen Yourske. You couldn’t meet her without remembering her forever. I would say her greatest joy was being a mom but I think it was actually being a grandmother (maw-maw and nannie).

In lieu of traditional services, we invite you to join us for a celebration of the beautiful life of Frankie, who touched our hearts and lives in so many ways. On Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 1:00-4:00pm at John & Melissa Hebert’s home  (12455 T. Jean Lane, St. Amant, LA 70774). Please come and share your memories, stories and love as we honor Frankie’s legacy. Food will be provided.
