Gene Deshotels
Gene Deshotels, 80, a native and resident of Washington, LA passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021. The loss of his gentle presence will be felt by many. Gene loved his family uncondionally and showed them in his own quiet way. His passtime was raising and training beagles and he loved the many people he became friends with by doing so.
He was preceded in death by: his parents Ruby and Clarence Deshotels; his sister Vera Arceneaux; and his grandson Justin Fontenot.
He is survived by: his wife of nearly 60 years Clarisse Sandoz Deshotels; his sons – Kevin Deshotels, and Greg Deshotels and wife Leeanne; his daughter Lesseley Deshotels Turner, and husband Marc; his sisters and brothers-in-law – Barbara and Terrell McGee, Jeanette and Dale Martin, and Marie and Alden Doucet; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial funeral mass will be held at a future date at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, LA.
