Memorial services will be held at a later date for Georgia Clofort, 82, who went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2021 at her residence in Ponchatoula. She was a native and resident of Ponchatoula, LA.
She was a very religious individual who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, would give her last amount of money when someone was in need, loved her family – especially her grandchildren who she gave nicknames for each of them. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, cooking and Elvis Presley and Doris Day. She watched Gone With the Wind until the movie had to be replaced because of the wear.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Marquette of Metairie, Elizabeth “Diane” Nette of Chalmette, Christine Lee of Titusville, FL and Kasey Wagner who was a grandchild, “her sunshine” but more like her daughter; three sons, Robert Kirkland of Pierre Part, Ricky Kirkland of Metairie and Michael Clofort, although a grandson, she raised him from birth; ten grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; many friends who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, George Clofort; sisters, Hazel LeBlanc, Katherine Navarre and Tilly; brother, Roy Rushing; mother, Edna Holland.
