Gerald “Jerry” Mark Desentz passed away peacefully in his sleep, in West Monroe, LA, at home on Saturday the 20th of April 2024
after a battle with COPD.
Born in 1958 and raised in Detroit, MI, Jerry migrated and settled in the New Orleans area in the 1980’s where he then became a life long and highly respected crane operator.
Jerry is survived by his two daughters, Helaina and Heather, two sons, Steven and Raymund, as well as eight human grandchildren,
three fur grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many other loving family members.
Those who knew him know that Jerry loved golf, Harley Davidson, Jeopardy, and having a delicious meal with those he cared about. To his children, Jerry is remembered as one of the most open minded and understanding parents a child could ask for; you could always come to him with anything without fear of judgement. He loved his children and valued their happiness above everything else. To other loved ones, Jerry was an honest and straight-forward man who valued the simple things in life. Jerry would want everyone in his life to know that they should live their happiest life and to not sweat the small stuff.
