Gerald F. Merritt, “Granddaddy”, born on December 23, 1942, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024. He leaves behind a devoted family who will forever cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet, son, Mark, and brother, Paul. He is survived by his beloved sons, Michael Sr. and Vic Merritt (Judith). Granddaddy was blessed with ten cherished grandchildren: Nathan Merritt, Danielle Gaudet (Jake), Kaylan Merritt, Michael Merritt Jr., Meaghan Johnson, Emilie Merritt, Megan Merritt, Hunter Merritt, Jacob Merritt, and Aden Merritt. His legacy continues through his 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way.

Granddaddy had a deep passion for golf and fishing, spending countless hours on the green and on the water, sharing his love for these hobbies with family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, love, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church Friday, October 4th, at 10:00am. The family will be having lunch at Doe's Eat Place immediately following the service.
