Gloria Theresa Boudreaux Saurage Hymel

Gloria Theresa Boudreaux Saurage Hymel, age 89, passed away peacefully at 3:30 pm on October 10th, 2024. Born on January 28th, 1935, in White Castle, Louisiana, she lived a life full of love and dedication to her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald James Saurage, with whom she shared three daughters: Susie (married to Jeff Schexnaydre, with children Ali, Jace, Justin, his wife Shannon, and great grandchildren Dolly and Goldie), Shelia Ann (married to Charles Kevin Ashy, with children Kade and Katherine “Gracie”), and Sidney Elaine (married to Mark Morvant).

She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Louis John “L.J.” Hymel, Sr., as well as her parents, Rose Marie Forte Boudreaux and Edward Jerome Boudreaux, and her nephew, Edward "Little Eddie" Boudreaux Jr.

Gloria is survived by her beloved sister, Mary Ann Boudreaux Hebert (whose late husband was Martin “Kibbie” Hebert), and her brother, Edward “Eddie Boy” Boudreaux,Jr and his wife, Dickie Lee.

She held a special place in the hearts of her stepchildren and their families: Belinda H. Cavell (Danny), Becky H. Sotile, Louis J. “Louie” Hymel, Jr. (Kay), Mark S. Hymel (Debra), Penny H. Weimer (John), and Randy P. Hymel (Lisa).

Gloria was also cherished by her godchildren, Sherry Eubanks and Maria Moore.

In accordance with her wishes, an intimate, private family memorial was held on November 6, 2024 to honor and celebrate Gloria’s full and blessed life.
