Gloria L. Richardson

Gloria L. Richardson, age 85, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at her home in Whitehall, surrounded by her family.  She was born in July of 1936 in New Orleans. She graduated from Maurepas High School as the valedictorian of her class. She continued her love of reading and music throughout her life. As a parishioner of St. Mary and St. Stephen Catholic Churches she sang in the choirs many years. She was a seamstress and supervisor for Neese Industries of Gonzales and retired after 32 years.  She worked two sometimes three jobs most years of her life as a single parent of four children. When she retired, she enjoyed staying home with her pups, gardening, reading, cooking for and visiting with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Keith Richardson, and wife Vickie, Jordy Richardson, and wife MaryKay, Paulette Charleville, and husband Barry, Danelle Richardson, and husband Barry, and sister Judy Richardson; 13 grandchildren, Christina Bovia (Kevin), Erica Laborde (Clint), Tracie Crawford (Mikel) , Seth Richardson (Gina), Jordan Richardson, Keli Boudreaux (Grant), Adam Lee (Amber), Alissa Caston (Sam), Aaron Lee, Chandler Charleville, Joe Charleville, Corryn Richardson (Ethan), Claire Richardson (Brister).  19 great grandchildren, Victoria, Cole, Thomas, Sarah, Ethan, Parker, Aiden, Asher, Axle, Charlotte, Graham, Burke, Averett, Anna, Ally, Sam, Lucas, Elliot and Alva.  She is proceeded in death by her parents Robert Berthelot Sr. and Thelma Berthelot, her siblings Barbara Penalber and Robert Berthelot Jr., daughter in-law Charlotte Richardson. Mass will be held on Friday, February 18th, 12:00 p.m. St. Stephen Catholic Church in Maurepas with burial to follow at Whitehall Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please offer masses or make donations to a local Alzheimer’s association in her honor.
