Gracie was born at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA on August 28, 2007. She departed this life on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the young age of 15. Visitation will be held at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1022 N. Burnside Ave, Gonzales from 9am until funeral service at 11am on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Gracie enjoyed being around her family and friends. She was always happy and joking around with everyone she loved. She had two furbabies, one dog, Bella, and one cat, Nico. Gracie attended East Ascension High School and planned to become a journalist. She was looking forward to getting her driver’s license this year. She worked at The Jambalaya Shoppe and loved her job, making her own money, and making new friends. Gracie is survived by her grandmother (Grammy) Tresha Melancon; her grandfather (Paw-Paw) Darryl Melancon; her brother, Marcos; her uncle/parrain, Randy Thackrey and wife, Jessica and her son, James Oertling; her uncle, Cole Melancon; uncle, Brett Melancon and wife Aimee and their children, Allee, Emily, and Blake; aunt, Chara Melancon Thigpen and her husband Kelly and their children, Layton and Alex Thigpen; her cousin, Tyler Southern; great-grandmother, Bonnie Southern; great-great-grandfather, Thomas Southern; her nanny, Kayli Melancon and wife, Dana Melancon & her kids and grandkids, Kaleb and Claire Neff and Cain and Darian Freeman and baby boy Ryland; her favorite cousin, Shanlin Babin; her very best friend, Lydia Jordan; her mother, DeShae’ Seal; and her furbabies, Bella and Nico. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gracie is preceded in death by her uncle Micheal Seal; her aunt, Tonya Southern; her baby cousin, Nicholas Southern; her great-great grandmother, Dorothy Bivona; and great-great grandfather, Woodrow Kinchen.
