Gyles Williams

Gyles Zemery Williams, passed away on October 15, 2023, at the age of 91. Gyles was born on September 6, 1932, in St. Amant, Louisiana.

Gyles proudly served in the United States Navy and the Korean Conflict. He is a retired insulator and was a member of Local 53. He attended Faithful United Methodist Church in St. Amant, where he enjoyed playing the piano and praising God. He also enjoyed fishing in his free time and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Gyles is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Rita Laiche Williams; their children, Randy Williams (Jacquee), Robin Wells (Brad), Holly Berry (Steve), Lisa Stafford, and Patty Williams (PeeWee); his grandchildren; James Wells, Truvie Wells, Misty McTernan, Erica Solar, Ty Williams, Trevor Williams, Wesley Maddie, Kyle Stafford, Stephanie Miceli, and Lindsey Berry; he is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Williams and Urna Singletary Williams; and his granddaughter, Krissi Ann Littrell.

Services will be held at Faithful United Methodist Church, 14253 Highway 431 in St. Amant, Louisiana, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
