Dr. Whitam retired in 2005 from the LSU Ag Center and was well-recognized in his field of Plant Pathology earning many prestigious awards. He received his BS and MS from Northeast Louisiana State College and Ph.D. from LSU. Ken was an avid outdoorsman, taking many trips to his camp in Grand Isle, where he and his high school sweetheart, Linda, wife of 54 years, loved walking along the beach in search of their “treasures”. Ken and Linda loved to fish, spend time at “The Camp” and entertain family and friends. Ken is preceded in death by his father Clarence C. Whitam, mother, Pauline H. Wilkinson, step-father, Earl Wilkinson, brothers Clarence and Fred Whitam. He is survived by wife Linda Harrigill Whitam, son, Neil Whitam (Rhonda), Dana Musso (JC), and Melissa Kenyon (Doug). Grandchildren, Kaycie Bennett, Abigail and Hayden Whitam, Keaton Musso, Hannah and Hudson Kenyon. Memorial service to be held at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Visitation begins at 10:00-12:00; memorial service follows. The family would like to thank the staff at OLOL (ICU) and Clarity Hospice for taking wonderful care of them and their loved one during this difficult time.
