Harry C. "H.C" Stafford

Harry C. Stafford, (H.C.) passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at his home with his family by his side, after living a full and blessed life until the age of 95. He and the love of his life, Mary Ann, were a true testament to what commitment to marriage and family meant. They were married for seventy-seven years and leave a legacy of 8 children, 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.

When Harry and Mary Ann first married, they established a home in Almeda, California where he was stationed serving our country in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was a proud American.

Harry had an extremely strong work ethic and taught all his children that they could do anything they put their minds to. He retired from BASF after 33 years as a dedicated employee wearing many hats over the years.

His love of aviation began at the young age of 14. When he used to hang out at the New Orleans airport watching planes come and go, hoping a pilot would ask him if he wanted a ride, which happened quite often. He received his pilots license at the age of 56 and was instrumental in starting the Louisiana Reginal Airport where he was involved in construction and went on to manage the airport.

Harry loved the outdoors, unless it was below 80 degrees. He planted and maintained a garden most of his life and cut countless miles of grass.

He will be missed by many, but his compassion, work ethic, and love of his family will remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Stafford and Jesse Stafford; two granddaughters, Rachael Stafford Thomassee, Krissy Stafford Littrell; sister, Norma McNeil.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, where he was lifelong member from 9:30-11:00 am with a funeral mass to be held at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park. Grandsons Thomas Stafford Jr., Kyle Stafford, Matt Stafford Jr. and great grandsons Bailey Stafford, Kobe Stafford, and Mathew Stafford III will serve as pall bearers.
