Heather Marie Kozak

Heather Luter Kozak, 51, passed away Saturday, November 9th, after a brief battle with cancer. She spent her last weeks on this earth surrounded by her closest family, best friends, beloved animals, and the love of her life, fiancé David Hollis. David didn't leave her side for months and had to nearly be forced away even when several people relieved him. Their relationship was 19 years long and surely headed for eternity. His dedication and love for her were noted by all who saw them together, and we that remain want to thank him and remind him that he is and will remain our brother, always our family. Thank you, David. We love you, and we are always in your debt. Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents, Virgie and A.D. Stephens, and her parents, Therra Webb and "Rowdy" Ronnie Luter. She is survived by her loving and devoted fiancé, David Hollis, a son, Hunter Barbay, sister and brother-in-law, Emily Katherin Woolie and Joseph Woolie, her Aunt Lisa Parks, and her other "children," pets Cyrus, Solo, Skittles, Sookie, Lebowski and Fiona. She is also survived by her very special best friend, Dusty McIntyre. Special thanks are extended to Dusty, who always showed up for Heather no matter what. She was the best friend Heather ever had, and we all want her to know we love her for it.

Services will be held at Riverbend Church, 25837 Kendalwood Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70817, at 11:00 am.
