Helen Cannon Castillo

Helen Cannon Castillo known to many as “Shot”from Maurepas LA left this earth peacefully on June 27, 2023 at the age of 72 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, LA. She is survived by her sisters, Nell Holton, Annette Smithhart (Jimmy), Velma Garza (Dan); sister in law, Shirley Cannon; daughter, Yvette Poole (Sterling); grandchildren, Kody Mills, Kory Mills, Kolby Mills, Sterling Starkweather, Vincent Starkweather; great grandchildren, Blaithe Mills, Anna Mills, Cooper Mills, Rayme Mills, Faith Mills; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews great great nieces, great great nephews, and cousins. Each holding a very special place in her heart. She is proceeded in death by her daughter, Tracy Moran; parents, Olis and Ella Lavigne Cannon; brother, Elmo Cannon; sister, Christine Sheets and brother in law, Gwin Holton. 



Helen was born on October 31,1951 in Lake, LA to Olis and Ella Cannon. She was the baby of the family and loved every minute of it. The family has shared many wonderful memories of her growing up. 



 Helen had a 30 plus year career as a ward clerk at various hospitals and medical facilities in the area. She was loved and respected by all that worked with her. 



Shot lived a full life. She will be deeply missed by everyone that ever meet her. Rest easy “Shot”. We love and miss you!
