The service to celebrate Amy’s Life is set for June 5th @ 11am at Christ Healing Community, 404 W. Pine Street, Gonzales, La
On Thursday May 6, 2021 in the late afternoon, Amber (Amy) Leigh Burns finished her journey on this earth and passed through that veil of tears. Met, no doubt, by her brother, mother, and father. What a precious reunion!
It was a well-known fact that Amy loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She proudly wore His Name as a Christian and joyfully shared the Good News with everyone she met. Family, friends, total strangers, wrong numbers and even scam calls would find themselves on the receiving end of her witness.
Amy loved to laugh and even through her sorrows she could find something to smile about. She lived with debilitating illnesses and chronic pain, but her faith never wavered. “This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life” – Psalms 119:50.
Amy is preceded in death by her beloved family; brother Nathan R. Burns, mother Rebecca Jo Marple Burns and father Jack J. Burns.
She leaves behind her one treasured possession on this earth, her son Jayden X. Burns. Her love for Jayden was inspiring.
Those left to mourn her include Aunts Dixie Lawrence and Rene’ Gutierrez, Uncle Arthur “Boo” DuCote, cousins Mark Sawyer, Mikki Evans, Madison Lawrence, Kari Millet, Tyson Slaughter, Jesse Trae, Adam Ducote and David Ducote. Also, numerous relatives in Iowa and Oklahoma. She was blessed with many friends who loved her and will miss her.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” ‐ Revelation 21:4.
