James "Jimmy" Manuel LeBlanc

God has called home a good and faithful servant. James “Jimmy” Manuel LeBlanc 85, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on July 2, 2024. Jimmy was born July 13, 1938, in St. Amant, Louisiana. Throughout his life Jimmy took on many jobs. His main occupations to note are highway technician with the State Department of Highways, salesman selling insurance and mutual funds, and asphalt technician at various plants until he retired at the age of 83. Jimmy loved music and was a talented saxophone player. He played with various local bands including Van Broussard, Mike Leblanc and the Dreamers, and 14 Karat.

Above all Jimmy was a devout Christian. His love for God was evident by the way he lived his life. Even through life’s hardships and sorrows Jimmy kept his unrelenting faith, setting an example of what God created us to be. He was a devoted parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and was active in several church committees, served on the Parish Council and was a charter member of the St. Amant Knights of Columbus Council 6389.

Jimmy is survived by his daughters: Donna Bajon and Denise Bonnette, Stepdaughters: Shermaine Poche, Rhonda Coriell and Roxanne Villar, grandchildren: Kelsi and Scott Bonnette, siblings: Jeanette Richardson, Gerald LeBlanc (Reba), Gaynell Little (Johnny), Lynn LeBlanc (Kathleen), Shirley Clouatre (Bruce) and Judy Babin (Jim) and an abundance of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Eva and Gilbert LeBlanc, first wife: Lois Causey LeBlanc, second wife: Murdle Coriell LeBlanc, son: Mark LeBlanc, and brother-in-law: John T. Richardson.

Services will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Monday, July 8th, 2024. Visitation is from 9:00am - 11:00am. Mass begins at 11:00am and entombment in the church mausoleum follows.

In lieu of flowers please donate in Jimmy's name to the Food Bank at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he volunteered weekly.
