James Ole Lysne, Jr. "Jim/Jimmy", a devoted husband, father, son, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 25, 2024, in Walker, Louisiana. James was born in North Dakota on December 5, 1972, grew up in Wyoming, and moved to Louisiana in 1998.
James was a 1991 graduate of East High in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Once making the move to Louisiana, James worked installing windows and doors. At the time of his death, he was an employee of Purpera and Sons Lumber and Building Materials. In 2015, he married Stephanie Gremillion, and they began to raise their blended family together. He was the best man, and to know him was to love him. His life revolved around that of his wife and children.
James' passions included cars, motorcycles, blues music, guns, and one-of-a-kind knives. He enjoyed bike riding, watching college football and baseball, as well as traveling. Above all, he cherished time with family, friends, and our dog, Luci.
James was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ole and Bergetta Lysne, his maternal grandparents, Paul and Alma Jane Roehl, as well as his two uncles, Pete Hess and Alan Lysne.
In addition to his wife, Stephanie, James is survived by his two children, Zachary and Paige Clark, his stepchildren, Elysa Archibald (Jordan), Logan Aime, Seth Aime (Amanda), and Ryan Aime (Jessica) and 4 grandchildren. James is also survived by his parents, Jim and Paulette Lysne, his brother, John Lysne, as well as aunts and uncles, Roger Roehl (Vicki), Paul Roehl, Jr. (Cheryl), Bernice Hess, Debbie Lysne, Wanda Roehl Wuitschick (Gary), Sharon Roehl Bratvatt (Blair), numerous cousins, family members, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on November 23, 2024, at Judson Baptist Church in Walker. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:30 a.m. followed by the service. A reception will be held afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in James’ name to The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
