James Alden Poe, Jr. (AKA “Junior”) was born on June 1, 1999, in Baton Rouge, and departed Denham Springs to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 27, 2024. He was twenty-five (25) years young.
Junior was gifted to this world to bring cheer and laughter to everyone. He lived to give, bless, love, and spread joy. His goal was to make everyone he interacted with smile and laugh, through comedic gestures, thoughts, jokes, and experiences, and the selfless giving of all that he had. If he owned it and someone liked it, he gave it. Unfortunately for those that experienced Junior, he completed his purpose here on earth and went to be with the Lord. However, the conforming implications of his cheerful giving, brotherly love, smile, signature laughter, and joy will resonate with us forever.
Junior was survived by his father, James Alden Poe, Sr.; his stepmother, Ashley Poe; mother, Crystal Harbert; stepfather, Mathew Stewart; seven (7) siblings, Dillon, Eric, Logan, Daniel, Brandon, Brooklyn, and Lexi; paternal grandmother, Lois Poe; maternal grandfather, John Adams; and a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Willard Lee Poe, Jr., and maternal grandmother, Rhonda Adams.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday January 3, 2025, followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM, at “The Church in St. Amant,” located at 13423 LA Hwy. 431 in St. Amant. Burial will follow at Serenity Oaks Memorial, located at 15304 LA Hwy. 73 in Prairieville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given that will be used by the family to honor Junior's life and memory.
