James "Sonny" P. Carroll

James P. “Sonny” Carroll was born August 16, 1933 and passed away peacefully January 9, 2024. James was a native of Birmingham, Alabama and longtime resident of Baton Rouge.

He was a kind and gentle soul. Everyone he met, loved him. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. James worked for his family’s business, Carroll’s Trailer Court and was a retired civil servant from the Louisiana Department of Labor.

He is preceded in death by his parents James O. Carroll, Roberta R. Carroll, Adell M. Carroll and by sisters, Faye Denham, Patsy Light, Bonnie Jean Carroll and Betty DeWitt. “Uncle Sonny” will be missed by all of his nieces and nephews, including Wayne Edgens and Kathy Williams.

The family wants to recognize the staff of Old Jefferson Community Care Center and Notre Dame Hospice for their loving care. Private services were held at the Louisiana National Cemetery.
