Janet Powers Guitreau

A native of French Settlement and longtime resident of Gonzales, LA, Janet Powers Guitreau passed away Tuesday October 5, 2021 at the age of 72. She was a longtime member of Hosanna First Assembly and most recently attended Colyell Baptist Church. She devoted much of her time and attention to her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with family and friends. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband of 53 years Marvin Guitreau, daughter; Lisa Artigue and husband John Jr., 2 sons; Marvin (Tory) Guitreau Jr. and wife Dana, Wade Guitreau and wife Tiffany; 3 sisters Doris Kelly, Gwen Rabalais and Sue Gerald. 8 grandchildren; Dane Guitreau, Megan Self, Tyler Guitreau, Madison Guitreau, Macy Guitreau, Kayla Guitreau, Olivia Guitreau and Abigail Guitreau. 3 great grandchildren; Emmalyn, Dominik and Hudson. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Eugene Powers and her brothers James Powers and Eugene Powers Jr. Memorial service to be held at Colyell Baptist Church at 11am Saturday Oct. 16, 2021.
