Janice Andre Laiche died peacefully on February 4, 2024, in the care of Clarity Hospice surrounded by her loving family. A native of West Baton Rouge Parish, Janice was born to Dorothy and Emory Andre on Dec 1, 1946. Throughout her teen years, she attended St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Boarding School in Chatawa, MS, and during her life, Janice spoke lovingly of the nuns who supported her there. She returned to Baton Rouge for her senior year and graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1964.
After graduating from Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing, she married the love of her life, Allen Thomas (Tom) Laiche on June 25, 1966. They were blessed with three children. Janice and Tom were married for forty-six years until his death in February of 2012. Together they were involved in church ministry at various Catholic parishes in which they lived. Janice will be remembered as a loving, supportive, and compassionate mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all. She always had a place at her table for a stranger and made all who entered her home feel special. Her strong Catholic faith sustained her throughout her life.
Janice is survived by her son Allen Laiche; daughters Teresa Howie (Donald) and Kristen Landry (Brent); nine grandchildren; Tayler, Olivia, Caroline and Grant Howie, Marcus and Jessica Laiche, Jacques, Garrison, Maggie and John David Landry; great grandson; Liam Camargo; siblings; Mary Morales Rogers, Dottie Morales Richard (Jim), and Walter Morales III (Jenny).
She was preceded in death by her husband Allen (Tom) Laiche; grandson, Matthew Landry; father Emory J. Andre; mother and step-father, Dorothy and Walter A. Morales; and a sister, Loretta Andre Sicard. Visitation will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 865 Hatchell Lane, Denham Springs, LA on Monday, February 19, from 10 am until noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin immediately after the visitation. Arrangements with Church Funeral Services, interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, Denham Springs.
