On Thursday, October 31st, Janice May Stein PhD. Peacefully passed away at her home in Baton Rouge. She was the daughter of the late John and Elaine Veale May, the mother of Jeannine Stein Wilcox, Scott A. Stein, Gretchen Stein Ducoing, and Ross A. Stein. She was also a grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 6. She was a loving wife of 42 years to Daniel W. Broe, sister to Julie May Libert, and sister-in-law to Laurence Libert and Carolyn Bodin May.

Janice graduated “Summa Cum Laude” From Loyola University, New Orleans, got her master’s degree and PhD. From Louisiana State University. From 1994 to 2017 she was on faculty at Our Lady of The Lake College. In the last portion of her career, she was chair of the Humanities at the college. In 2005 she was awarded Outstanding Faculty and later that year, she was inducted into the “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” honor society.

On Friday, November 15th, from 9:00am to 11:00am, there will be a viewing and funeral service in the church of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Rd., Baton Rouge, LA, 70810, to begin at 11:00am.
