Jay Robert Shaffer

A native of Pumpkin Center, LA and a resident of Hammond, LA he passed away due to complications of diabetes on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the age of 55. A private memorial service was held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Cate Street Park in Hammond. Burial will be at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center, LA. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Irene Phillips Shaffer; daughter, Ashley Sanders; sons, Zachary James Shaffer, and Joshua Robert Shaffer; sister, Sherry Lynn Shaffer Tomsic; brother, James Alan Shaffer; and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Ambrose J. Shaffer; mother, Eunice Harris Shaffer; sister, Jeanette Shaffer Gregoire; and brother, Audie J. Shaffer.
