Jeannene Marie "Nean" Bourgeois

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeannene Marie Bourgeois, affectionately known as Nean, on September 1, 2024, following a courageous but brief battle with cancer. Nean, who was 61, brought boundless joy and warmth to everyone she met with her good humor and generous spirit. She was a beacon of positivity, always ready for adventure and to lend a helping hand, facing life's challenges with an unwavering smile and optimism.

Born on August 10, 1963, Nean was a proud 1982 graduate of East Ascension High School and a devoted member of New River Methodist Church. She worked at Diversified Material (DMC), where her infectious energy and vibrant personality made her a beloved colleague. Nean found fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending time with loved ones, cutting grass, jitterbugging, or making others laugh.

Nean leaves behind her best friend, Cathy (Mo Mo), her godson Carey, and cherished family members including Denise, Shane, Debbie, Chris, her brother Darby Lambert, and her sister Misti Lambert. She is also remembered by her 13 step-siblings: Hope, Joan, Joey, Ken, Lisa, Nancy, Roxanne, Victor, Jerri, Marilyn, Lillian, James, Kevin, and Garrett, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harold J. Bourgeois; her mother, Ruth Dale Lambert (Edmonston); and her brother/godson, Kolby.

Nean’s legacy of joy and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at New River Methodist Church, (Hwy 22 in St. Amant, LA). Visitation will begin with family 9:00am to 10:00 and public 10:00am – 11:00am. A memorial service will begin at 11:00am concluding with a celebration of life gathering at her home, (46495 Spedale Ln., St. Amant, LA)
